Move it!

By Skinny Farmer Here at Skinny Farmer we are working to start a movement. Not a political or societal movement. This is a much more personal movement. Not THAT personal, silly!   The movement we are talking about is your body.  It's time to get up and move it.

Stop Stressing Over Goals

By Skinny Farmer Goals are good.  Goals can motivate.  Goals help measure success. Everybody knows that. But not me.  Skinny Farmer has discovered that goals can be bad, too.  Goals can hinder.  And goals can give a false reading of where one is with regard to success. Say what? You are probably wondering right now if Skinny Farmer has spent a little too much time in the hot sun. I assure you that I haven't.  Goals aren't all they are cracked up to be. Martha, hide the children!  Skinny Farmer is about to tell them they can be listless drifters! No, I'm not.  What I have found is that there is something much more powerful than goals to help you succeed. What is that?  I'm fixin' to tell you.

A Couch in a Donut Shop

I looked like I lived on a couch in a donut shop. No matter how much I worked out....No matter how much I dieted....No matter how much I suffered, it didn't matter. I was fat. I know the thin people would look at me and think, "If he would just stop eating all those donuts and get up off the couch once in a while, you would be thin...like meeee ." Ever feel that way? Another Thing I'm Not

We already established in the last post that I'm not skinny (yet) and that I'm not really a farmer...at least not in the technical sense.  I'll write more about that at a future date. I will be both of those things in the future and will be writing about my journey here. I need, however, to establish one other thing that I am not: I am not a medical doctor. What that means is that nothing that I present to you is to be construed as medical advice. I know what you are thinking: "Why should I listen to this Skinny Farmer, guy?  He is neither skinny, nor a farmer.  Heck, he isn't even a medical doctor." I'll tell you why. You should listen to me because I have already lost about 60 pounds and it has been relatively easy. Seriously. I plan to tell you how I did it and discuss what I'm doing from this point forward. You won't be receiving medical advice from me.  What I will be telling you about is what has worked for me and what hasn...
