I Feel Good

By Skinny Farmer I knew that I would.....now that I'm back on Keto . As I wrote previously, I had screwed up and allowed Carbs back into my life.  I am truly amazed at how quickly the negative effects of carbohydrates impacted me.  They really derailed me. Not just my weight loss either.  I was feeling tired, foggy, sluggish, and I had sinus congestion. Yes, that last one surprised me.

Getting Back to Basics

As I told you a few days ago, I unwisely allowed carbs to slip back into my life, and they tried to take over.  Read about my struggles here . I have found that giving up carbs can be difficult.  And I can't simply cut back.  I have to give them up completely.  I have to have fewer than 20 carbs a day, or they will be all I can think about. Carbs turn me into a robot...a carbot, if you will.  I pick them up and are eating them before I even realize what I'm doing.  Has that ever happened to you?

Derailed is not Failed

By Skinny Farmer Ok.  I screwed up. I said it.  You happy? I'm not.  I'm quite upset about it actually. I let carbs sneak back into my life and I have only myself to blame. As you may know, I have been on the Ketogenic diet since the beginning of this year.  I was cruising along, losing weight like crazy, and then I thought I was invincible.  I let myself get sloppy. I can handle a few carbs.  So I let my guard down and had a few.  And then a few more. Before I knew it, the cravings were back. Has something like this ever happen to you? I had been keto-adapted, and now I was falling back into my old ways.  But I'm not going to let it beat me.  I'm going to tell you what I'm going to do about it.

Cracking the case on eggs!

by VG If you grew up in the 70's, you might remember a time when eggs were considered NOT good for you. And..... we were told that margarine was.  We now know that eggs are one of the best foods on our planet. They are nutritious, packed with protein and B vitamins. I like eggs because they ARE good for you, inexpensive, easy to make, and portable. Shopping for them is another story. I enter the supermarket, grab a grocery cart, and make my steady way past the sale bins in the front, maneuver past the produce on my right and sugary packaged beverages on my left to the end of the aisle. Then, I make sharp left and travel past the fresh meat, meat products, and cheeses finally arriving at the EGG display case. That glorious moment. I stop and stare a the gigantic case loaded with hundreds of cartons containing thousands of eggs. And there are about 20 different brands of EGGS. Dizzying I know. Okay, I knew there were white eggs and brown eggs, but this?

Move it!

Stop Stressing Over Goals

By Skinny Farmer Goals are good.  Goals can motivate.  Goals help measure success. Everybody knows that. But not me.  Skinny Farmer has discovered that goals can be bad, too.  Goals can hinder.  And goals can give a false reading of where one is with regard to success. Say what? You are probably wondering right now if Skinny Farmer has spent a little too much time in the hot sun. I assure you that I haven't.  Goals aren't all they are cracked up to be. Martha, hide the children!  Skinny Farmer is about to tell them they can be listless drifters! No, I'm not.  What I have found is that there is something much more powerful than goals to help you succeed. What is that?  I'm fixin' to tell you.

I'm Tired

You ever feel that way too?  Of course.  We all experience it from time to time.  I used to feel exhausted every morning, until I started taking steps to improve my sleep. But not lately.  Lately I've been extra tired in the morning. And I only have myself to blame.  That's because I'm not following my own advice. I just want to crawl in. What do I need to do to improve my sleep? There are some fundamental things that, at least for me, have made a big difference. I'll list some of them and then tell you where I screwed up.

KEy TO Weight Loss

Our generation is living longer than previous generations. The BIG question is are we living better? Thoughts to ponder. One small change in the right direction is the start of a new and better life.
