Get Back on Track Fast

Happy New Year!
If you are like most people, myself included, you may have indulged in a few extra treats over the Holidays. And now the scale (and your clothes) are telling you that you overdid it.
By now, hopefully, you are taking steps to get back to what was working before Thanksgiving (or Halloween!).
If you are, or if you are looking to kick things off, I have a suggestion that will speed things up:
A Fast.
I have written about fasting before in this post.
I'm a big believer in the positive health effects of fasting.
Indeed, as I write this, I am in hour 40 of a planned 48 hour cleansing fast. And I feel great!
I'm not kidding. I'm not saying it to sound tough. I truly feel good.
I'll be honest with you, the first 24 hours are the hardest. Once you get past that, you are on a roll.
I do recommend that when you do eat, especially leading up to your fast, to eat Keto. The simple reason for that is Keto reduces your appetite.
When I eat carbs, I'm hungry all the time. When I eat Keto, I really rarely feel hungry.
Do I notice food and want to eat if I see or smell it? Yes. So I try to avoid temptation while I'm fasting.
So that is what I'm doing. Don't feel the need to do a 48 hour fast. Try a 12 hour one. Or 10. But get started. It may surprise you.
